"Heather Preis is an outstanding editor and ally for new authors! Her ability to remember the entire book while reading it is nothing short of phenomenal. She caught so many issues that were inconsistent, and notes as an editor are clear and offer real direction on how to make a book read better. Additionally, when she does write on behalf of an author, she does so in the voice of the narrator, as if I had written it! Crazy skill that I had never seen before. If you need help with your book, talk to Heather! She’s the real deal."

Dale Allen-Rowse,
author of Journey of a Dark Shaman trilogy

Manuscript Review

A manuscript review is a high-level, one-time review of either a partial or full manuscript to assess what works well and identify potential areas for revision as it progresses. This is also an opportunity for you, as an author, to get feedback on an early draft, and for an editor to gain additional context on your goals and intent behind the narrative.

Coaching

Book coaching offers routine meetings as your draft progresses to discuss the various elements as they take shape as well as any adjustments that should occur until you reach The End.

Developmental Editing

Developmental editing is a deep edit that reviews a manuscript for structure, flow, character development, and other endemic components that impact the narrative as a whole.

Copyediting

Copyediting, or line editing, focuses more at the paragraph and sentence level for syntax, word choice, grammar, and spelling errors.

Proofreading

Proofreading is often the last phase of editing prior to book design to ensure the manuscript is clean of typos, grammatical issues, inconsistencies, etc.

Book Design

Formatting your manuscript is the fun part, where you select fonts, chapter headings, and address any illustrations or graphics within the narrative.
